Why we’re here

This publication was born from a wish to see more good new writing given space in the world.

We are here to hold a space for poetry that spills from the complex, the absurd, and the brute-beaut warm-blooded.

​We are all sweet mammalians. We aim to be an inclusive publication that reflects the diversity of our submitters, and provides a welcoming place for queer, trans, indigenous, and otherwise-marginalised voices.

While our heart is in Aotearoa, we also publish interesting work from elsewhere - bringing words from our islands into conversation across oceans.

We offer a modest koha for accepted work, varying according to our resources and funding.
